1. Maungarei or Mt Wellington is located in East Auckland.
2. It was formed by an eruption 10 000 yrs ago.
3. It is 135m high.
4. Mt Wellington was first used as a pa.
5. A reservoir was constructed near the summit of the cone and supplies Glen Innes St. Heliers, St Johns, Kohimarama and Glendowie.
