Miss Stone has ordered a hug box of lollies for the class. The box contains 12 packets of lollies. In each packet there are 14 lollies. How many lollies could Miss Stone have altogether?
My strategy:
2 + 10= 12
10 x 10 = 100
10 x 4 = 40
100 + 40 = 140
2 x 10 = 20
2 x 4 = 8
20 + 8 = 28
140 + 28 = 168
12 x 14 = 168

DENSITY

We did an experiment on DENSITY.

Question What happens when you drop an egg into ordinary drinking water and an egg into salt water?

Observation

1. The egg in the glass of ordinary water sank to the bottom of the glass.
2. The egg in the salt water floated.

Conclusion

THis happens because salt water is denser or heavier than the     ordinary water. It was easier for the egg to float.
